Double Trouble

Well I have been working on getting flooring and the belly pan out over the past week or so and it has not been without its challenges. As I started to remove the bottom curved portion I discovered that the genius who had it at some point also put exterior skins over existing exterior skins. So like the inside I have to do twice the work and deal with the repercussions. But as you can see I was able to get all the lower curved portion off. Oh as far as genius, here is one for the books. They took pieces of PLASTIC, painted them silver and then riveted them to portions of the outside to look like they were aluminum!!

We where also able to remove the canopy as it was blocking the removal of some of the trim.

So far the only tank I have removed is the fresh water tank. Its been cleaned (not clean in pictured) and appears to be in good shape.

With most of the visible frame looking like it wouldn't need much if any welding I was hopeful the same would be the case with the outriggers. This is not the case! As you can see from the below picture they are completely rusted out and will all but two have to be replaced. I broke down and bought an inexpensive welder as I will have to replace about 16 outriggers. The good news is that the two I am hopeful will survive are the ones on either side of the step.

As you can see about 90% of the floor is out. Removing the two aft tanks and belly pan is a bit of a challenge as they span the axles and have groves, so I cant drop them straight down and pulling them forward or back will be hard because of the slots they have to go over. But I hope to have the rest of the floor, belly pan, and tanks removed by this time next week.
