Ok. I know. I know. Its been a long time, and your thinking I have just given up! Nope! I have not given up. But it's been super hot, and I have not been able to get much done, so I have been doing little things and things a little at a time. I have even less that is blog and picture-worthy. However, I assure you I have been working on Marilyn.
As I worked on her, I noticed and was bothered by the "flex" in the seams of the flooring. I tried to shore it up with corrigated staples and flexible floor leveling. Yeaaaahhh.. not so much.
Well, I didn't come this far to have a half a$$ floor. So after some consideration, I decided to put a 1/4 layer of plywood in the opposite direction to alleviate the issue. Additionally, I had bought this marine-grade sealant for the flooring and now I had to decide do I put it on the original layer or the top layer. Well, I put it on the original as I have to lift the shell to replace that one.
Then I got to the business of putting on the new topping.
The good news is that it did alleviate the issue. When I finish putting it down, I will seal it with the Marine-grade sealant as well. I still have the front arch to do and the one last piece pictured that is ready; I just need to secure it.
I also have been working on sealing every possible seam from the inside. Initially, they are not ALL sealed. But I figured I have access now and I would rather put the time and money into doing it now than trying to trace down a leak in a year or two. I bought an electric caulk gun and let me tell you, that is one of the best inventions EVER. Now, 24 tubes of caulk later it is about 99% done. Again I have the last little arch area. Noooo, it is not that I don't ever finish anything. It's hard because I have all the extra stuff that I have to store somewhere and work around it. Then move it and complete the area where it is.
In the true fashion of getting stuff "almost done", I have started working on the electricity. I drilled the hole for and placed the 50 amp shore power outlet.
I have the distribution pannel wiring started.
I haven't plugged it in quite yet. I do want to make sure someone is there to dial 911 juuuuuust in case. But I'm pretty confident in the wiring.
I also put in the new door handle. I'm going to have to redo this because the aluminum around it is scratched. But the modifications are made, I have a template and I don't have to tape the door closed anymore.
Not pictured, I have been working on the pieces of the frame that were not done before, like the tongue.
Ohhhh
And trying to figure out how to place the bed. The vent line from the black tank is about 3 inches into where I need the bed to be. I am considering a compost toilet as I can put and vent it where I want, and I don't need to worry about having a dump site. The picture below is a template of the size of the bed using a queen.
Thanks for following, and have a great day!
Great work, and attention to detail! Have to agree on the electric caulk gun!
