This week I removed what there was of floor covering to see what I was dealing with. Removed all the screens, the door trim, vent covers, and electrical outlets so I could start to remove the skin. Once I started to remove the skin I found that somewhere along the line someone decided to put new skins over old skins and seemingly randomly cut pieces out of the originals. So Im having to remove two sets of skins in some places and have almost no useable templates. Im about halfway through getting the skins out and have saved and marked what skins I could, but frankly think Ill be starting from scratch. I figured out the shell definitely has to be lifted off to replace the subfloor and I pray they did it correctly last time so that the "C" channel is still good. Although I wanted to avoid lifting the skin at all cost it will have its benefits. It will give me easier access to replace the tanks, under-floor plumbing, and do any repairs that are need to the frame. I'm fairly certain at least some of the outriggers will need to be replaced. I hope to complete getting the skins off and all the insulation out by Sunday afternoon. Then start to remove the inside pieces of the subfloor.
